Born and raised in New England, a childhood spent building legos lead me to study Industrial Design at Philadelphia University. I’m lucky enough to marry my design career with a love for the outdoors in my current role at Eastern Mountain Sports, where I handle all design and development of our branded hardgoods products. Outside of work you’ll find me out in the woods on my mountain bike. A newfound passion for bikepacking gets me out farther into the wilderness and provides interesting design challenges as I design and build my own gear. If I’m not riding, I’m working with my hands sewing, welding, or tinkering with my 3D printer. Built with industry standard 210D ripstop nylon, 4 way stretch spandex, EVA foam, and cannibalized shoulder straps from an old pack. The harness tucks behind the back panel, internal compression straps help keep you organized while packing, and two exterior pockets are perfect for smaller items. The waist belt features a zippered pocket as well as a stretch pocket perfectly sized for a passport or notebook. The interaction points like the internally accessed hood drawcord and snap closure at the top of the zipper play a vital role in a satisfying user experience. Getting the baffle sizing correct is paramount to maximizing loft and warmth of the down.
